Books
Books have always been among my greatest teachers. Long before I ever imagined writing one myself, I was being shaped by the wisdom, kindness, and generosity of those who put their understanding into words.
Writing Remember the Seer became my own small way of continuing that tradition. My hope is that these books are not simply read, but lived.
Take your time.
Read slowly.
Practice sincerely.
And allow the teachings to become part of your own experience.

Remember the Seer
Rather than presenting meditation as another skill to acquire, Remember the Seer gently invites readers to rediscover the quiet awareness that has always been present beneath the changing movements of the mind.
Drawing from the Yoga Sutras, my own experience, and the wisdom generously shared by my teachers, this book offers a practical path for bringing meditation into everyday life.
Whether you are just beginning or returning to a long-established practice, my hope is that these pages encourage you to recognize the peace, clarity, and presence that have never been absent.
Remember the Seer stands out from most commentaries on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Shiva Edsall speaks with a voice filled with compassion and wisdom. A perfect book for those new to the Yoga Sutras as well as for advanced practitioners, Remember the Seer is warm, wise and inviting. It keeps its readers engrossed in a classic text with modern sensibilities. Shiva also honors the tradition of study and practice under the guidance of a qualified teacher or guru. Readers will be uplifted and will enjoy a wondrous journey into the heart of Yoga.

Coming Along the Path
Several new books are quietly taking shape.
Some explore meditation. Some the Yoga Sutras. Still others reflect on the teachers, stories, and ordinary moments that continue shaping my own practice.
When they are ready… you’ll find them here.
Until then… practice well.
Continue Walking
If Remember the Seer is your first visit here…
you may enjoy beginning your practice…
or exploring the reflections that continue growing from these same teachings.
